Blue Tiger Eye (Hawk's Eye) forms through the same pseudomorphic process as golden Tiger Eye — the replacement of crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibers with silica — but with less complete oxidation of the iron, which preserves the blue-grey color. It's found primarily in South Africa and Western Australia. Ancient Egyptians used Tiger Eye in the eyes of their deity statues, believing it conveyed divine vision.
