Lava Rock (also called Basalt) is formed when volcanic lava cools rapidly on the earth's surface. Its characteristic porous texture is created by gas bubbles that were trapped in the lava as it solidified. It's one of the most common rock types on Earth — the ocean floor is largely made of basalt. Lava Rock is found in volcanic regions worldwide, including Hawaii, Iceland, Italy, and the Pacific Ring of Fire. Because of its porous nature, it can absorb and slowly release essential oils, making it a natural diffuser.
